Julia is a director, writer and photographer based in Berlin and the Canary Islands. She’s driven by a simple mission: to tell stories that make the world a tiny bit better. By splitting my time between the raw, urban energy of Berlin and the volcanic light of the Canaries, she gets the best of both worlds — continually feeding my obsession with light, shade and lines.
Her visual language is rooted in street photography, an eye she’s carried through nine years of production — from an apprenticeship in media and sound design to creating for clients like Adidas, VICE and Wolt. She’s learned to wear many hats while maintaining a singular focus: atmosphere.
While she’s a digital native, she has a deep-seated love for the soul and texture of analogue film. She aims to show feelings rather than just products.
Currently studying directing at FilmArche, she focuses on queer and feminist short films that prioritize mood and feeling over everything else. Whether she’s leading a full crew or working as a nimble one-woman team, she strives to create atmospheres that esonate and shift perspectives.
